scottwatsonScott Watson, Principal
Scott has more than 25 years experience in operations, business development, sales, and mergers and acquisitions. He specializes in turnarounds and start-ups, helping such companies accelerate growth either organically or through acquisitions.

Prior to The C=C Bond Group, Scott held sales and operational leadership positions with Eastman Chemical Company, Durect Corporation, DSM, and AMPAC Fine Chemicals. In addition, Scott spent 5 years working with a Private Equity firm doing leveraged transactions.

A 1983 graduate of the US Naval Academy, Scott completed Qualifications as a Naval Nuclear Engineer and developed his leadership skills serving as an officer aboard a US submarine. He earned his MBA from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

 

Brooks Adams, Director, Medical Devices and Technology
Brooks has more than 25 years’ experience in operations and business management, product/service marketing, product launch, employee relations and resource management. He currently focuses on product launch and management, and business operation support for small and medium-size companies that need critical management duties performed on a project or retainer basis.

Brooks has served in operational and project management roles, primarily focused on advanced technologies for the physical rehabilitation industry for HDT Robotics, Motorika USA, and HealthSouth Corporation. In addition, Brooks was a successful entrepreneur and owned a leading retail business throughout the 1990’s. He is a 1986 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College with a dual degree in business administration and music.

Rick Offerman, Executive Director, Business Intelligence
Rick has over 25 years experience in operations, business development, sales, marketing, market research and business intelligence. Rick joined The C=C Bond Group in as Director of Business Intelligence and Market Research in 2014. Prior to joining The C=C Bond Group, Rick held operations, sales, marketing and business intelligence positions with Eastman Chemical Company, DSM, Boehringer Ingelheim and Cambrex.

A 1986 graduate of the University of Iowa with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Rick was a Post-doctoral Research Associate and Senior Group Leader of a group of over 50 research scientists at the University of Florida before joining Eastman Kodak in Kingsport, TN. After a dozen years in industry Rick returned to earn an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University with an emphasis in Health Sector Management and high tech marketing. Rick was an intern at biotech Trimeris and in Global Commercial Analysis at GSK while at Duke.

Ashley has over 15 years in various business endeavors, including sales, customer service, marketing, project management, and 5 plus years in banking and loan documentation.

While taking time off from her career to stay at home with her children, she became a licensed Realtor, selling $1M in properties in her first year on a strictly part-time basis as well as effectively creating, writing, and designing print advertising pieces and building a clientele supported by referral business. In addition she planned and coordinated client events for AMPAC Fine Chemicals, including a dinner for 40+ people with the US Ambassadors Office in Madrid.

Ashley has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Shelby Simone graduated from Samford University in 2008 with a degree in History and Classical languages. After graduation, she served 2 years with Teach For America South Carolina. During those 2 years, Shelby taught 7th grade science, Anatomy, Health, Biology, Environmental Science, and Applied Biology Lab. As the chair of the Science Department, she founded the school’s Environmental Science programs and organized district-wide Earth Day Programs.

In 2014, Shelby founded the Simone Plus brand from home. In the past year, she built 2 websites to house the brand’s blogs and started a Maternity Planning and Design Company. She is an affiliate blogger with 6 different companies, and a consultant on social media networking and engagement for other brands. She currently specializes in website redesigns, search engine optimization, and brand recognition.

Whiting, the founder and principal, is a US patent attorney with a Ph.D. in biophysical chemistry and 15+ years experience drafting, prosecuting, licensing, and litigating patents for clients in the chemical and life sciences.  Dr. Whiting has a broad IP law skill set developed through 10+ years working at the international law firm, Howrey LLP, and 5 years as Senior Director of Intellectual Property at the publicly traded biotechnology company, Codexis, Inc.  Prior to entering the legal profession, Dr. Whiting was an NIH-funded post-doctoral researcher specializing in the use of advanced spectroscopic and chemical techniques to understand the structure and function of complex biological molecules.

Paul graduated Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning in 1987. He has worked for several small design firms before starting his own business in 1994. Since then he has had the privilege of working with clients in a diverse range of industries including publishing, construction and development, product research, business consulting, medical, pharmaceuticals, retail, and the visual and performing arts.

His primary strengths are in corporate identity and print collateral. He has worked with many clients from the inception of their business to help them grow their brand consistently, across all media.
